Domaine de Radhadesh

The Goshala is part of the bigger domaine de Radhadesh. The Domaine de Radhadesh is a haven of peace and serenity just a few minutes from Durbuy, the “smallest city in the world”. Here you can discover a magnificent neo-Gothic castle housing a temple dedicated to Krishna, stroll through the galleries of the Museum of Sacred Art, or browse in the Indian craft shop. 🍃Just this Saturday we had the wonderful festival of letting the cows out to the pasturing grounds of Radhadesh.🐮

🐄 From now on until the end of the grazing season they will be out on the fields. Feel free to see them. But please do not feed them anything additional because they are happy with the grass itself! 🌾

We would like to invite everyone to come and witness this years letting the cows out to the pasturing fields. Many times the cows jump out of joy and run around. It is a truly wonderful sight to see.

We are so lucky to have such amazing devotees doing the service of taking care of the cows in Radhadesh. Radha Gopinatha has brought us together and we are a happy bunch.

We would like to thank Diana for her services in the Goshala and hopefully will welcome her back soon again.

In just a half a year we have had to deal with the intense grief of losing our cows.
Gaura passed due to his broken hip, Jambavan due to the blue tongue disease that had become an epidemic in Belgium and neighboring countries, and our dear Ganga who passed due to her old age.

We will always keep them close to our hearts and they have taught us so many wonderful lessons that we will never forget.

But after a lifetime of service they are back to where Krsna wants them 💕.

Yesterday, we celebrated Gopashtami at Radhadesh Goshala — a day that marks the divine moment when Lord Krishna reaches the age to begin herding the cows. 🐄💫 On this day, Krishna takes on the role of the protector and caretaker of the cows, a beloved service that reflects His deep love and connection to all living beings.

In a beautiful twist, Radha and the gopis (her divine companions) also dress as cowherd girls (gopas), eager to join Krishna in this sacred service. 🌸💚 Gopashtami is not just a celebration of Krishna’s role as a cowherd, but a symbol of divine love, humility, and devotion.

In just one summer so much changed.

Jambavan, also affectionately called Jamba, passed away on the 8th of September this year. He battled for 3 weeks against a nasty virus called blue tongue disease. The vet was already very surprised and impressed he made it so long. For 3 weeks we had vet visits every other day and Robert, our Goshala manager, was round the clock going back and forth to the Goshala to check on him.

We are so proud of him and still miss him so much wholeheartedly.

We are so happy to welcome this beautiful new cow with all of your support! Thank you all so much for being so engaged in bringing her here.. She was quite nervous when she first arrived but is slowly calming down.

We have to still name her. We would especially like to ask you who have supported her to come here and supported out Goshala to please vote which of these two names, which were suggested by Sacinandana Maharaj, you feel fits her best.

The two names are Dhavali and Hamsi and are two of the principal cows of Lord Krsna. Dhavali itself means one with a white complexion and Hamsi is derived from the words indicating swan or goose.

Did you know??

This Sunday 25th of August there will be the Cultural Janmashtami festival here in Radhadesh. A big celebration for Krishna’s birthday where we expect around 2000-3000 pilgrims to come and immerse themselves in various devotional activities.

We will also have a market stand there where we will sell cards, sandesh (sweets made from our cows milk) and little other handmade souvenirs. These are all for raising funds for our cows.

We look forward to seeing you there!!

Every morning and evening we feed our cows, milk them and bring them to and from the pasturing grounds. During these times we are met with lovely interactions and interesting surprises.

Holi in Radhadesh!

On the 17th of March we had a wonderful Holiday festival with approximately 1500 guests! They had the opportunity to play holi (with colored powders), dance to the music of Uma from @shantipeople, have a warm vegetarian meal by Tirupati prabhu from England and have a bullock cart ride with Dharma and Jamba taking people around the property.

We also had a little giftshop where we sold Sandesh (milk sweets) from the milk of our cows, handmade Hazelwood keychains, and dry cow dung.

All proceeds that have been made during this day came to 700€ approximately which will all go to the care of our cows. We would like to thank everyone for having come and make it such a nice day for everyone. See you soon.. Maybe at the next festival? 👀

This little life with the cows of Radhadesh !

The Radhadesh Goshala got a visit by one of our Spiritual mentors @krishnakshetraswami_official . He came to see how the cows were doing and share some of his own travels and experiences in other Goshalas around the world. We’re very happy to have been able to host him and show him around our amazing Goshala.

Dharma and Jamba are training up to start carrying logs from the forest and bring manure to the garden. Dharma is always very excited when he sees he will get to work for the day. We hear that when someone is situated in their duty, they will love to work everyday. Or in simpler terms do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.

A little bit of fun in the snow never hurt anybody! Our sweet cows Ganga, Bhumi, Yamuna, Candani, Dharma, Gaura and Jamba are stretching their legs a bit during this winter season, and get to play outside..
